I just couldn't remain silent about this movie. Because this movie is really FUCKED UP!!
I literally hate this movie. It is the first movie that I have felt so strongly against a movie like this. I left before this movie even ended. And guess what, the day that I watch this movie, the movie theatre was fulled.
Okay, I get the idea of Shaolin Martial Arts being incorporated into sports, because Shaolin Soccer did just that. In this movie, the director decide to grotesquely mixed Shaolin Kungfu and Lacrosse together. Lacrosse being a women's sport, fine.
The first thing that the audience laughed at was how the Japanese actor butchered the Chinese Language. It barely recognisable and it sounded more like a foreign language rather than Mandarin.
Secondly, Personally I dun quite like the idea of watching a Japanese movie on the big screen. Because I will be spending my time trying to read the subtitles rather than watch the movie. And the banters are very very lame as well.
By the mid of the movie I was already fidgeting around my seat. I am just not really interested in watch that movie any more.
The plot is very simple in fact.
1. Shaolin girl (main actress and hereby known as SG) finishes her training in Shaolin Temple.
2. She returns to Japan to spread this art.
3. She joins the lacrosse team
4. University principal knew about SG.
5. Turns out SG has got great inner power within her.
6. Principal belongs to the dark side and wants SG along with him (*roll eyes* its sooooooooo Star-wars-Luke-I-Am-Your-Father moment).
7. Principal turns out to be...*drum roll*...yea...wait...for it...its coming...oh yea...you'll never see it coming...you'll never know what hit you...SG's Dad.
8. SG and Principal fights on the surface of a deep pool a la Naruto. In which it prompt me to leave the cinema.
9. SG unleashes her inner power a la Naruto and defeats Principal.
10. End, Yawnzz.
This movie SUCKS!!! Its not worth the weekend pricing. Wait, its not even worth the weekday pricing and its not even worth the watch on the Net.
And this movie made me learn one very important lesson-
Japanese should stick to Japanese and Chinese should stick to Mandarin
